A charter helicopter lost in the mountains of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The helicopters carry two Australians and a New Zealand citizen nationality.
According Hevilift, the company chartered a plane for operator mining and energy, the Bell 206 helicopter crashed on Friday (6/7) afternoon local time in the mountains of Southern Highlands region. Three people are in the heli.
"The search conducted by Hevilift air immediately with all existing aircraft, which continue to search this morning," remarked Hevilift based in Singapore as reported by AFP news agency on Saturday (07/07/2012).
"The plane has not been found and the search is still ongoing," added Hevilift.
According to aviation officials PNG, helicopter disappeared while flying from the project site InterOil to Mount Hagen. The third condition is not known how the people who are in the heli.
Aircraft accidents often occur in PNG. More than 20 aircraft have crashed in PNG since 2000. Including the tragic incident that killed 28 people in October 2011 last. At that time the aircraft Bombardier Dash 8 crashed into the dense forest area when bad weather strikes.
