Serve over Breakfast For Obama, Restaurant Owner Dies


A woman Ohio, United States collapsed and died several hours after the serve breakfast to U.S. President Barack Obama, who stopped by the restaurant.

A woman named Josephine Ann Harris died at the age of 70. He is the owner of the restaurant "Ann's Place" in Akron, Ohio.

Ann complained of fatigue and numbness after Obama left the place after breakfast on Friday, July 6 am local time. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. But Ann later died in hospital.


Allegedly, he had a heart attack. So reported the local newspaper Akron Beacon Journal as quoted by AFP news agency on Saturday (07/07/2012).

Obama stopped at the restaurant on the second day of his bus tour in Ohio and Pennsylvania. In Ann's restaurant, the Obama ate two eggs with bacon, wheat toast and grits with three tire factory workers.

Upon hearing the news of the death of Ann, Obama called Wilma Parsons, daughter of Ann.

"I think you all saw the news, sad news that Ann died this afternoon," said Obama spokesman Jay Carney told reporters on the presidential plane Air Force One.

"You know, the president met him at the restaurant. He was not actually there when the president arrived, but he then came, as well as members of another family, and he (Obama) met him (Ann)," said Carney.

"The president expressed sorrow and condolences - this is a very sad event. He was glad to see him this morning," said Carney.
